Benahavis is a Spanish mountain village between Marbella, Estepona and Ronda, 5 km from the coast and known for its local restaurants and charming narrow streets – the city is called in the popular “ruta gastronomia” on the Costa del Sol. The city itself is surrounded by a large natural park, but has an outstanding pleasant atmosphere. Andalusia is known for its small white villages, spread over the mountains of the entire region. Benahavis is the white village closest to Puerto Banus and Marbella. That’s why it draws all of the Andalusian culture arm into the international space on the coast. La Zagaleta is a Country Club and an exclusive gated residential area with panoramic views of the village and wildlife that lives in the region. Country side lifestyle close to the wildlife but centrally located with less than 20 minutes to Puerto Banus. It is regarded as one of the most exclusive areas in Europe – and even worldwide. The area contributes to Benahavis’s status as the richest municipality per capita in Andalusia, but also one of the cheapest municipalities, as community fees are very low compared to the rest of the region. Additionally, you get much faster building permission compared to Marbella. In recent years there has been expansion of the village to the surrounding area with many hundreds of homes being built. The area has 9 of the 60 golf courses on the Costa del Sol; This figure is expected to rise to 15 during the next decade. Benahavis is undoubtedly a much sought after place to live.
